This includes 8 years as Director/MD in Government-owned companies dealing with renewable power generation. In renewable energy, he served over 4 years as the Director in a large Government company which owns and runs India's largest hydropowering house of 1500 MW capacity. In addition, he spent 3 and a half years as head of a Government owned Company developing 3000 MW of hydropower, and headed a power transmission company. He has worked as head of Department of Energy in State Government. |

Shailendra is an Engineering graduate from Jawahar Lal Nehru University (Gold Medal). A technocrat with an excellent reputation in the field of bio-fuel, renewable energy & rural development. He has 30 years of varied experience of work on different aspects of technologies pertaining to bio-fuel/bio-diesel, new & renewable sources of energy, environment, waste recycling and power plants (non-conventional energy).
He was involved in the establishment of PV plants in more than 1400 remote villages, 175 solar pumps for drinking water, 1000 solar community lighting systems in tribal hostels in forest and remote villages of state.
He has also contributed to a number of technical papers related to PV. |

Amit completed a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering in 1994 and further completed his Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing Management from IMDR Pune.
In the first nine years of his career, Amit worked with various organizations in the process control industry. More recently he has been working in the solar industry, and in the last six with SCHOTT Solar AG. His present responsibilities include managing sales for PV business of SCHOTT Solar AG in India as well as the SEA countries and CSP business in India. |

Dr. J. N. Roy completed his Ph.D. (Materials Science) from IIT-Kharagpur in 1984. He was with Semiconductor Complex Ltd. (SCL), now known as Semi-Conductor Laboratory (SCL) a VLSI & MEMS manufacturing and R&D facility, from Jan1984 to Oct 2004 and Sept 2006 to July2008. He was responsible for VLSI and MEMS related activities of the organization; including Process Technology Development, Design, Fabrication, Testing and Assembly.
During the period between October 2004 and September 2006, he was with Panjab University as Professor (Microelectronics). Currently he is Senior Vice President (R&D) of Solar Semiconductor Pvt. Ltd. and responsible for Technology, Engineering, Quality, Reliability and EPC related activities of the organization.
He was a consultant to Analog Integration Corporation- USA. He has conducted short training courses for faculty, researchers and corporate houses. He has 4 patents/applications and more than 80 publications in Journals/Conference proceedings. He is a co-editor of a Conference Proceedings and co-authored a book “Introduction to VLSI Design and Technology”.
He is a Fellow INAE, Senior Member IEEE and Fellow IMS. He has received best innovator award from EDN-Asia. He had been an INAE Distinguished Visiting Professor and Honorary Vice Chair Person of IEEE Hyderabad Section. |

Dr RK Bhogra is currently working as Consultant with BHEL on Solar Energy after superannuating as General Manager & Head of BHEL’s Amorphous Silicon Solar Cell Plant (ASSCP), Gurgaon, which is basically an away centre of Corporate R&D Division of BHEL, Hyderabad and dedicated to R&D activities in the area of Solar PV.
With an excellent academic background at school and college level and throughout a merit scholar, after obtaining Masters and Doctorate degrees in Physics from IIT Delhi, Dr. Bhogra joined BHEL Corp. R&D Hyderabad in the year 1978 and pursued R&D activities in the area of non conventional energy sources, which included solar thermal, solar PV products & systems design, testing and their field evaluation. Dr Bhogra had also undergone 15 weeks training at University of Florida, USA, in Alternative Energy Technologies.
After active R&D activities for over a decade, Dr. Bhogra joined BHEL’s Corporate Office, New Delhi and had been actively involved with R&D Management function, including corporate issues in the area of non-conventional energy systems. Some of his major assignments were networking with academia, other research institutions & and Govt. agencies & ministries, formulation of new R&D management system, R&D projects review and monitoring etc. From January 2004, he headed the solar PV R&D Centre ASSCP, wherein he has taken numerous new initiatives, especially converting this facility into a full-fledged industrial photovoltaic research centre, including establishment of various testing & characterization facilities for development of various solar PV technologies & products.
He has over 30 research publications in reputed journals & conferences and about 16 patents to his credit and is a member on various committees in DST, IIT, DIT and other Government agencies. |

Ravinder Raina

| Ravi Raina is the President of India operations for Astonfield and is a seasoned global executive with 30 years of experience in the power industry. Currently, Ravi spearheads the renewable energy program consisting of solar, biomass, solid waste to energy.
Prior to joining Astonfield, Ravi was the VP at the Corporate Power Division of Larsen & Toubro, one of the largest EPC and manufacturing companies in India. At L&T, he was responsible for large scale power projects including a $400M joint venture investment with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd for coal-based supercritical technology, boilers and steam turbines for 4GW capacity. Further, he managed the development of 2 IPP projects, each totaling $4 billion, and led other projects in the oil and gas sector.
Prior to taking his position in L&T in 2004, Ravi spent 24 years in Wartsila Corporation Oy of Finland - a global technology leader in the field of reciprocating engines based on oil and gas, offering end-to-end solutions for power plants and the marine transportation sector. There, he built expertise in various markets including Egypt, Finland, Kenya and India as Managing Director of different geographies.
Ravi has significant experience in M&A, investment management and project management. Throughout his career, Ravi has led numerous start-up companies and developed world-class organizations to provide Business Development, EPC and O&M solutions. Ravi is the recipient of the European Market Research Center Award for Outstanding Entrepreneurial Efforts in East Africa and holds a degree in mechanical engineering from Bhopal University, India. He is an alumnus of IMD Business School in Lausanne, Switzerland. |

Prasanth Sakhamuri: Born in 1963 is a science graduate from the Bangalore University after which he received his MBA from the Institute of Rural Management in Anand, Gujarat, India.
Mr. Sakhamuri has been employed by Hind High Vacuum Company Pvt. Ltd (HHV) and its affiliated companies since 1986, where he currently serves as Managing Director. HHV is a leading Vacuum technology company in India and has been on the forefront of industrial growth over the last 45 years in India. Over the last decade HHV has been progressing to become an International leader in the area of Vacuum and Photovoltaic technology.
Mr. Sakhamuri is also the Chairman of HHV Solar Technologies Pvt. Ltd (HHV ST) a photovoltaic module manufacturer and a subsidiary of HHV, HHV ST is embarking on rapid expansion and foraying into backward integration projects to be a technology leader in India in the area of Photovoltaics. He is also the Director of HHV Ltd, which is the international manufacturing, and marketing business of the HHV group based out of the UK.
Mr. Sakhamuri is a member of the Solar Energy Society of India. He has been involved with various committees of the Confederation of Indian Industry and has been an active participant in the preparation of industry representation to various policy making organizations in the government of India. He is also a member of various committees that have been responsible for development of the National Solar Mission in India. He has also been part of many research initiatives to develop cutting edge technology in the area of thin film Photovoltaic.
Mr. Sakhamuri is a very keen golfer and an internationally qualified referee in the game.
Mr. Sakhamuri has been a very active member of Round Table India in his youth and was the Chairman of the Round Table no. 25 in Bangalore. |

Dr. Chetan Singh Solanki is currently Associate Professor in Department of Energy Science and
Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IITB), India. He is an expert in Si-nanostructures
(including quantum dots) for PV applications, thin film Si solar cells, PV concentrator systems and carbon
nanotubes. He received his Ph.D. degree from the specialist silicon laboratory, IMEC (Inter-university
Micro-electronics Center, Ketholik University, Leuven, Belgium). He has given short term course on solar
PV technologies for companies like Applied Materials, TataBP Solar, BEL and BHEL. Currently he is
working on projects sponsored by Applied Materials, MCIT, MNRE and DSIR. He has also provided
consultancy to organizations like DRDO, Birla Surya Ltd. etc. He is in the five member national committee
on Special Incentive Package Scheme (SIPS) of DIT, Govt. of India for technical evaluation of solar PV
projects.
He won an EMRS (European Material Research Society) young scientist award, and UGC scholarship
during his post graduate and IMEC scholarship for doctoral studies. He has authored two books in the
area of renewable energy, one of them is on solar PV which is titled as “Solar Photovoltaics:
Fundamentals, Technologies and Applications (ISBN: 978-81-203-3760-2)”. He holds three US patents
(patent no. 6649485, patent no. 964732, patent no. 7022585). He has developed low concentrator solar
PV technology on which an Indian patent is filled and technology is transferred to an industry. |
